Hello guys
Two posts from me today.
Music for the production was talked about in week 3. Unfortunately I couldn’t upload any sound clips but I’ll give a brief outline of some of the stuff Steve suggested and some of the ideas I had.
Steve had suggested the soundtrack to The Time of the Gypsies (see image right). He also suggested Hamlet Gonashvill which I conveniently found a short clip of on you tube for your viewing pleasure. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1fF8S0dGak)
It’s a great piece of music and wouldn’t impose itself too much on a scene, as in it wouldn’t dictate the mood of the scene.

Personally I had looked at some African music from an album called Starry nights of the Sahara, which is beautiful music. It as parts with a choir of children, nothing like a conventional choir, and other parts which are entirely instrumental, I shall bring it to class for anyone that would like to listen. I specifically like a piece of music called Ya Lali or in english Old man. It could be quite interesting for the Witches. I’ve also looked at Gorecki – Symphony of Sorrowful songs, Movement 3 is a very haunting piece and is less overpowering than the rest of the Symphony. Here is a link to some Gorecki, not specifically Movement 3, the video is from Auschwitz though and is a little upsetting. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miLV0o4AhE4)
