Sounds like an innuendo doesn’t it! Well as we all know this is the exercise where we stand in a circle and pas a clap to the people either side of you after one is passed to you. There are several variations of this exercise. The version we played was just a basic passing one clap around the circle in a direction of our choice. For this we need to be flexible as we need to be ready to take the clap from either direction. We also need to watch where the clap is in the circle to make sure we are ready before it gets to us individually.
After two years of playing this game many times, we played quite well. However the exercise became an observation of predictability. By observing how others played the game we could look at how as an individual we play. I know for myself I always plan at the beginning of the game to just keep sending the game in the same direction after I get it. However I found that sometimes I would send the clap back and it was usually just from a gut instinct. Others I observed like to send the clap back most of the time.
However there would be times that people who took on this pattern would change tactics at time as well. I found that I got to a point where I was expecting people to send the clap in a certain direction. Luckily no one noticed that at one point I almost sent a clap I didn’t get. This was because I put myself in a false safety zone. I thought I could predict that a clap I sent was coming back to me.
