Trust exercise

In the last lesson we looked at an exercise that focused on trust

For this exercise we had to get into pairs and one closed theirs eyes whilst the other guided them around the space with their hands. The one who was guiding needed to be sensitive to their parnter and not be rough and just drag them around, instead they needed to gently guide them in a dircetion around the space. The person who was guiding needed to be aware of the space around them, so that they didnt make their partner collide with anyone else. This is where the trust comes in, the person with their eyes closed needs to trust that their partner will keep them out of harm at all times. It is important to trust one an other in theatre because we will be working closley with one an other and need to feel comfitable and trust helps this. We also need to trust who we work with so there is not tension and everything will run smoothly. this exercise needs alot of focus and concentration. when your eyes are closed you feel really off balanced and your surroundings feel so different, everything feels so much closer to you. It is important to try and relax and trust your partner, and let go off any tension.

Personally i really enjoyed this exercise. I found it easier to be lead. I believe that my partner and I trusted each other fully and we worked well together. There was also alot of focus and concentration in the room which really help.
